Your Rights Under Title VI & Section 504

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities and ensures that people with disabilities have equal access to programs, services, and activities.

Filing a Complaint with the Department of the Treasury 

If you believe you have experienced discrimination related to a CDFI Fund program, you may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity (OCREEO). Complaints should include:

  • Your name and contact information

  • A detailed description of the alleged discriminatory act, including dates and locations
