Your Rights Under Title VI & Section 504

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities and ensures that people with disabilities have equal access to programs, services, and activities.

Filing a Complaint

If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination under Title VI or Section 504, you have the right to file a complaint. Complaints may be submitted in writing or verbally and should include:

• Your name and contact information

• A description of the discriminatory act, including date and location

• The name of the person or entity responsible for the discrimination (if known)
